Simeon Palios today painted Diana Shipping's experience as a lender to sibling Diana Containerships as a positive investment after the debt was repaid in full.
Bulker owner Diana Shipping lent $50m to the fellow Palios company in 2013 and the loan was later updated and increased, with $82.6m outstanding at the end of last year.
However, that sum has now been cleared in full following the sale of seven boxships, which concluded with the disposal of the 6,494-teu Hamburg (built 2009) today.
