The charter market is feeling the effect of lines taking an axe to services, with a long-running rally grinding to a halt.
Several major services that deployed more than 40 container vessels of between 4,200 teu and 9,400 teu were withdrawn from operation in May and June.
That has dampened demand, pushed more available vessels into the market and ended the rally that took hold in November last year.
