Depressed rates have contributed to the demolition of almost 30 VLCCs and well over 100 tankers in total during the first half of 2018, new data shows.
Demolition specialist Ed McIlvaney said almost four million ldt of tonnage went for recycling in the opening six months of this year.
His total includes 29 VLCCs, according to a report circulated this weekend.
