Venezuela VLCC fixtures have “nosedived” with only eight vessels calling at the Jose terminal since the beginning of June and the crude tanker market is facing more pain in the months ahead, says Alphatanker.
The Paris-based market analyst says reports are now commonplace of jetties being out of operation, pipelines leaking and water in ports being so filthy that tankers are refusing to enter.
