One of Hamburg's leading shipbrokers, Peter Gast, has died at the age of 89.
The founder of S&P and newbuilding specialist Peter Gast Shipping passed away on 5 June.
He was married to Birgit and leaves sons Christian and Dieter Gast, who run the company today.
A funeral service will be held on 19 June in Hamburg-Nienstedten.
In 1949, Gast started work in England for Reederei Werner Peters and between 1952 and 1972 he set up services to West and South Africa for Globus-Reederei.
