AET is aiming for half of its future tanker orders to be equipped with LNG dual-fuel propulsion systems as part of its commitment to reduce its emissions footprint.
Ker Hong Yeow, AET’s head of corporate planning, risk and performance management, said dual-fuel systems suit aframax tankers best but come at an extra cost of approximately $12m over a conventionally powered vessel.
