The sudden thaw in tensions on the Korean peninsula could have profound implications for domestic shipbuilding, says shipbroker Affinity (Shipping).
However, while it is still early days with a potentially huge range of potential outcomes the peace dividend could prove to be a double-edged sword.
“The Won would almost certainly strengthen as the risk discount unwinds as investors dial out the potential of sudden conflict–large or small,” says Affinity.
