Flurry of LR2 charters fixed as rates hold their ground

Four shipowners have locked LR product tankers into period charters as rates for term business remain steady.

Turkey's Yasa Holding forged a deal with Vitol that will see the Geneva-based trader charter two LR2 vessels for up to a year European shipbrokers say.

The Swiss commodities giant took the 115,000-dwt Yasa Golden Bosphorus and Yasa Golden Horn (both built 2007) for six months at $13,500 per day with an option for six more months at $14,500 per day.
