Uncertainty over how sulphur emissions regulations will affect the dry bulk sector is driving Western Bulk to limit its charters to the 2020 deadline when the new rules are to come into force.
Vivek Kumar, managing director of Western Bulk's Singapore office, says the company is unwilling to take a position beyond that date as the impact of a ban on high-sulphur fuels remains unknown.
