Norwegian shipping groups Wilhelmsen and Kongsberg have joined forces to create the world's first autonomous shipping company.
Talks between the two began last autumn and today a new joint-venture company Massterly was announced.
Thomas Wilhelmsen, chief executive of Oslo-listed Wilh Wilhelmsen Holding, said Massterly established the infrastructure and services to design and operate vessels, as well as advanced logistics solutions associated with autonomous operations.
