Japan’s JX Ocean has been linked with a VLGC order in South Korea.
A shipbuilding source said the Yokohama-based company booked an 80,000-cbm LPG carrier at Hyundai Heavy Industries for delivery in 2020.
Officials at HHI declined to comment on the newbuilding deal, citing contract confidentiality.
A source close to JX Ocean confirmed the shipowner intends to order a VLGC but said no firm contract has been signed with HHI.
