China State Shipbuilding Corp (CSSC) and China Shipbuilding Industry Co (CSIC) have said they know nothing of a merger between the two giant Chinese state yard groups.
Rumours over the last few days suggested the government had approved in principle a combination of the companies.
But the groups said in stock exchange statements they had not received any notice from the government about the matter.
