A faster than expected upturn in the dry cargo market has seen the sector rediscover its self-confidence, Jens Ismar says.
The Western Bulk chief executive believes an upturn in 2017 brought “life, luster and optimism back to the dry bulk market as rates returned to a more sustainable level”.
Writing in the company’s annual report today, Ismar said: “After a weak start, performance improved throughout the year, and the fourth quarter turned out to be the best in five years.”
