A VLCC newbuilding contracted by Singapore-based Sentek Marine & Trading has been named as the vessel BP will take on time charter following its search for a 2020 emissions-compliant vessel.
Large tanker market players link BP to at least one of two firm 300,000-dwt VLCC newbuildings contracted by Sentek last year at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries in South Korea.
They say widespread market talk indicates that the VLCC, which will be delivered in 2019, has been fixed for three years at close to $33,000 per day.
