Michael Bodouroglou-led Allseas Marine has ended a 12-year absence from the tanker scene with the acquisition of a modern suezmax pair.
The 160,000-dwt RS Tara (built 2016) and 159,300-dwt RS Aurora (built 2017) were recently posted as part of Allseas’ managed fleet on its website.
Market sources say the duo has been purchased for about $50m each but were unable to throw further light on the deal.
