DHT Holdings has concluded one-year period charters for two VLCCs, co-chief executive Svein Moxnes Harfjeld has confirmed.

The New York-listed tanker owner struck a one-year deal with Shell for the 320,000-dwt DHT Lotus (built 2011), while the 301,000-dwt DHT Edelweiss (built 2008) has gone to another oil major.

That means five of DHT's 23 VLCCs on the water are on period charters — all to oil majors — including two that are locked into deals with France's Total.
