China’s Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry bagged up to nine VLOC newbuildings in a deal worth $675m.
ICBC Leasing has ordered six firm 325,000-dwt bulkers plus options for three sisterships at the state-owned shipyard.
An industry source familiar with the deal confirms the VLOCs orders and adds that Beihai is slated to deliver the ships between late 2019 and 2012.
