Ed Buttery’s Taylor Maritime has distanced itself from reports it has bought a handysize bulker.
Hong-Kong based Taylor is, however, still in expansion mode with a view to adding more tonnage.
Shipbrokers have been connecting Taylor with the purchase of the 37,300-dwt Cielo di Venezia (built 2008) at a price of $10.7m.
Buttery tells TradeWinds the company inspected the vessel but did not submit a bid for “reasons unrelated to quality or price”.
