International Seaways confirmed its first VLCC purchase since separating from Overseas Shipholding Group as it reported a third quarter loss today.
TradeWinds reported last month the company had swooped for the 318,300 Gener8 Zeus (built 2010) from New York-listed peer Gener8 Maritime.
International Seaways today said it had bought a 2010-built VLCC for $53m, which confirms the idea of improving tanker asset prices.
