Japan's NS United has posted a big increase in earnings over its first six months as revenue rose.

The bulker owner said net profit to 30 September was JPY 3.66bn ($32.21m), against a loss of JPY 65m in 2016.

Revenue was up at JPY 67.72bn from JPY 59.76bn.

It had only forecast earnings of JPY 2.8bn.

For the full year, it estimates profit at JPY 6.5bn,
