Last week's TradeWinds Shipping China conference reunited top owners, charterers, operators, shipbuilders, brokers and not least ship finance executives, all eager to peek at each other's notes on the gathering market recovery in dry bulk and shipping investment in general.
The Shanghai event overlapped a much grander conference in Beijing — the 19th national congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
