Lawmakers have proposed four bills to repeal or curtail the scope of the Jones Act, the cabotage law that limits moving cargo between US ports to vessels built at domestic shipyards.
Three of the proposals are focused upon relief efforts to help Puerto Rico in the aftermath of devastating Hurricane Maria.
Holland & Knight lawyers told clients today that "none of the bills appears likely to advance immediately."
