DNV GL is putting an end to the paper chase as it rolls out electronic certificates across its entire fleet.
The classification society said the widespread use of electronic class and statutory certificates will result in efficiency gains for shipowners, charterers and regulators.
DNV GL has been working on pilot digital projects for the past few years and around 50 flag states have granted the class society permission to issue certificates on their behalf.
