Shipping industry groups have warned the Trump administration that imposing high fees on Chinese-linked ships will harm the US economy without benefiting American shipbuilders.
The string of letters from national and international industry groups was filed on a government docket ahead of a hearing scheduled for Monday to discuss plans to impose fees on port calls by vessels built in China or operated by Chinese companies.
