Older VLCCs are still being linked to secondhand sales at firm prices as buyers stay optimistic on the freight market outlook.
The latest deal to be reported in broking circles is that of the 296,000-dwt Chinese-built Yinghao Spirit (built 2009) to Chinese interests.
A price tag of $52m has been mentioned.
