The UK can revive its dying maritime sector by taking a lead in promoting nuclear-powered shipping, according to a consortium backing the technology.
UK companies Lloyd’s Register, nuclear promoter Core Power and insurer NorthStandard urged the British government to act or risk falling behind as rival nations take strides to promote small onboard systems that would revolutionise shipping.
