Greek shipowner Tsakos Group has scooped all nine suezmax dynamic positioning two (DP2) shuttle tanker newbuildings for Brazil’s Transpetro and will place the entire order with a single South Korean yard in a deal worth over $1.3bn.
Newbuilding brokers said Samsung Heavy Industries is set to build the specialised vessels under contracts with Petrobras’ shipowning arm.
