A little teamwork can go a long way.
That is what some shipowners and operators grappling with the gradually tightening carbon limits of the European Union’s latest emissions regulations have found.
The FuelEU Maritime regulation entered force in January. Shipowners whose vessels do not comply with its greenhouse gas limits can do so by entering their vessels in a pool with vessels that over-comply, for example, through the use of alternative fuels.
