Norway’s Utkilen is taking a step towards greener shipping by upgrading the first of four tankers to run on LNG.
The Bergen-based owner’s 10,500-dwt Mostraum (built 2019) has been converted into a dual-fuel ship that can also use marine gasoil.
Running on LNG, CO2 emissions will be cut by about 15%, the company claimed, with SOx output almost eliminated.
