Brazilian oil major Petrobras has signed deals to charter 12 new platform supply vessels ordered by two shipowners.
The energy group said the construction and chartering contracts are worth BRL 16.5bn ($2.7bn).
Of this, BRL 5.2bn has been earmarked for investments in shipbuilding in Brazil.
