Henrik Madsen, the former CEO of DNV, has retained a taste for shipping even in his so-called retirement.
More than a decade after orchestrating the merger of the Norwegian class society and its German rival, Germanischer Lloyd, in 2013, Madsen is back with a plan to put frozen CO2 into a container and ship it from Denmark to Iceland.
He hopes to prove it is viable and cheaper to send unwanted CO2 to be sequestered underground as a solid rather than compressed or liquefied.
