Around 60% of newbuildings contracted in the third quarter of this year are LNG dual-fuel vessels, according to DNV.
In a summary of the past three months, the classification society said September was “a relatively slow month” for alternative-fuelled vessels, with just 17 orders placed.
Of these, nine were able to use LNG as a fuel, and most of these are container ships.
