The US Maritime Alliance (USMX) has filed an unfair labour practice charge against the union threatening to shut down container and vehicle ports across the Atlantic seaboard and Gulf Coast.
The allegations by the employers’ group against the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) come less than five days before the start of an expected strike.
The charge filed with the federal National Labor Relations Board asked it to order the ILA to the bargaining table.
