Shipowners appear to be expecting a ramping-up of hostilities between Israel and Lebanon after a week of rising tensions.

Speculation has centred on the possibility of a full-blown conflict between the two countries after fatal rocket attacks by Hezbollah on Israel and retaliation from Israeli that killed one of the Lebanese militant group’s top commanders, Fuad Shukr, in Beirut.

Israel claimed that Shukr had helped plan the missile strike that killed 12 children playing football in the occupied Golan Heights.
