Insurance costs for tankers and gas carriers fell over the past quarter in a sign of increased competition in the hull and machinery market.
Baltic Exchange data showed the average daily cost of insurance for an LNG tanker of $1,183 in the last quarterly figures reported last month, a 7% year-on-year decrease.
The measure covers all forms of marine and protection and indemnity insurance except for high-risk area coverage.
