Apeejay Shipping has made a rare excursion into the secondhand market to acquire a 16-year-old panama bulker.
The Kolkata-based shipowner said the unnamed Japanese-built 74,107-dwt vessel had been renamed the APJ Uma Kismat.
No financial details were disclosed, nor was the identity of the seller of the 2001-built gearless vessel released.
Apeejay Shipping said the deal increases its fleet size to 4.4mdwt
