Germany’s MPC Container Ships has added to its fleet for the first time since buying five Lomar Shipping vessels last summer.
The Oslo-listed feeder specialist said it has agreed to pay $47.25m in total for two 3,500-teu boxships built in 2009.
The unnamed pair will be handed over in the third quarter and then chartered out to a “top-tier” liner company.
