Baltimore-based engineers have warned the likelihood of a catastrophe similar to the ship strike of the Francis Scott Key Bridge is likely to be much higher than currently believed.
Engineers from the city’s Johns Hopkins University have begun a study focused on bridges at the entry to US ports and warned that changes to ship design have increased the chances of similar incidents.
