A general cargo ship was reported to be taking evasive action to fight off a suspected Somali pirate attack.

The unnamed Panama-flag vessel issued a piracy-related distress call on Thursday evening while 220 nautical miles (370 km) north-east of Eyl, Somalia, Ambrey Analytics said.
