South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries is claiming a total of KRW 396.5bn ($289m) in compensation from domestic gas importer Kogas and its technology arm in relation to its KC-1 cargo containment system which was fitted to two LNG carriers built by the yard.
A confirmation filing today revealed the amount SHI is claiming from Kogas and its subsidiary KC LNG Tech which designed the membrane-type containment system.
