A tragic shipping collision in the Singapore Strait is heading for Norway’s Supreme Court as a hard-fought preliminary battle over legal jurisdiction nears a conclusion.
The collision between the 37,438-dwt chemical carrier Stolt Commitment (built 2000) and 10,385-dwt multipurpose vessel Thorco Cloud (built 2004) on 17 December 2015 resulted in the latter vessel sinking almost immediately with the death of six crewmen.
