China Cosco Shipping has ordered six tanker newbuildings at two domestic shipyards.
The contracts mark the end of a four-year order drought. Its last deal for tankers was in 2019, when it booked two 50,000-dwt product tankers, according to VesselsValue.
Tanker arm Cosco Shipping Energy Transportation ordered one 50,000-dwt methanol-ready MR tanker at Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry Dalian for CNY 349m ($49.3m).
