Insurers have issued a new series of guidelines on the carriage of electric vehicles (EV) amid safety concerns following a series of car carrier fires.
The guidelines have been issued by the International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI) and follows similar guidelines issued by Japanese classification society ClassNK earlier this week.
The guidance comes a month after a major fire on the 6,200-ceu car carrier Fremantle Highway (built 2013).
