Malaysian shipowner MISC Berhad and South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries have won approval in principle from classification society DNV for a floating CO2 storage unit (FCSU).
The FCSU, designed for the emerging carbon capture and storage (CCS) business in the maritime sector, has been designed to provide a total storage capacity of 100,000 cbm and an injection capacity of 5m tonnes per annum.
