China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES) is set to be the first mover to order a methanol dual-fuel VLCC newbuilding.
The Shanghai-listed shipping giant said it has received approval from its board of directors to order one crude carrier at its favourite shipyard — Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co (DSIC).
CMES said the order for the VLCC newbuilding is part of the company’s fleet-renewal programme.
