A juicy US military contract awarded to one Overseas Shipholding Group-owned MR looks to be opening up a spot for OSG to replace it in a separate government programme, as the Florida-based company expands its US-flagged fleet not engaged in the Jones Act trade.
The tanker in question is the 52,000-dwt Overseas Mykonos (built 2010), which has sealed a US Military Sealift Command (MSC) charter to help close down a fuel depot in Hawaii.
