A Greek diplomatic official and Petrobras chartering executives are accused of playing a central role in an alleged bribery scheme that prosecutors are tying to charters with the Brazilian oil company.
Prosecutors have linked Konstantinos Kotronakis, the honorary consul to Brazil, to charters secured by Greek shipowners including Tsakos group, Dynacom Tankers Management and Dorian Hellas, as well as affiliates of New York-based Aegean Marine Petroleum Network, which has strong ties to Greece.
