German owners Nordic Hamburg and Briese Schiffahrt are said to have signed a series of orders for eight multipurpose ships to be built in China.
They are understood to have placed orders worth close to $232m with Huanghai Shipbuilding, according to German sources.
The 12,500-dwt vessels are F-500 type MPP project and heavylift vessels, equipped with two cranes of 250 tons capacity.
