Saga Shipholding came out on top of shipowners that have been recognised by the US Coast Guard for excellent safety and environmental standards.
The Tevnik-based owner had nine ships listed as qualifying for the USCG's "E-Zero" programme. The E-Zero designation recognises ships for having zero detentions and zero deficiencies on a worldwide basis over a period of three years.
Likewise, qualified ships must have a USCG-approved ballast treatment systems onboard.
