Huge spot rates for VLCCs are trickling down to smaller crude tanker sizes, brokers and analysts said on Tuesday.
The Baltic Exchange’s average VLCC rate is now $97,500 per day from the Middle East to South Korea, up 10% in a week and 88% over the last month.
Fearnley Securities said rates on that route were above the Worldscale 100 mark.
